Badger Meter, Inc.To Whom It May Concern, Steve Klein asked that Nancy and I write to you regarding the importance of a complete lighting plan beginning a project. Both of us are writing this letter with Nancy being an experienced designer and Jim being a well-satisfied customer. As a designer, the sequence I follow in developing a project is to first interview the client, then develop a program, create the floor plans, specify wall coverings, floor coverings, furniture and art work; next, I like to call in a lighting designer to create the lighting plan which pulls all the components of the project together, including the health and safety of the various personnel in the work space. As the project begins, the lighting is ordered and installed at the start of the project and everything else follows. We always encourage our clients to include a first-class lighting plan in their projects. As a designer, I have been fortunate enough to win several awards. A design project would not be considered in any meaningful competition unless a professional lighting plan was a part of the program. Steve Klein has helped in many of our projects. He has the knowledge to specify the right application for each situation. Steve is very knowledgeable about new products. Two of the projects at Badger Meter were entered in a Wisconsin State ASID competition in 1993 and both were awarded first place in their respective categories. Steve did the reflective ceiling plans and specifications for both programs. In our opinions, as a designer and as a customer, the work that Steve does is a valuable service to offer designers and architects.  Sincerely,Nany B Forbes, ASIDJames L. Plunkett Raysich ArchitectsRe: Lighting Design ServicesWe have appreciated our association with your firm over the last several years, especially as it related to lighting design services. Steve and Lana have assisted the designers at Plunkett Raysich Architects on many projects, including our own office and in some cases our homes. I have received many compliments for work performed in collaboration with SESCO designers. Because design is so basically essential to the spirit of architectural success, I have specifically sought the device of Steve Klein on projects which merit unique lighting solution. We will continue to do so as the results of each collaboration have been notable.  Sincerely, Stephen D. Holzhauer, AIAProject Manager
Lakeshore Gallery
Lakeshore GalleryTo Whom It May Concern,This letter is to inform you of the fine lighting service provided by your organization for our remodeled gallery. An essential ingredient in an art gallery is proper lighting. We had been searching for an electrical supply company that could give us proper guidance in this area. We were fortunate to make contact with your company at the ASID-IBD trade show last fall. Mr. Steve Klein developed our lighting plan and saw that it became a reality. In spite of an apprehensive beginning, we are very pleased with the results. Lakeshore Gallery is now one of the finest galleries in the area. Our dramatic presentation of the art is dependent on your lighting system. We appreciate Steve Klein's assistance and the quality of your products. The reputation of professional guidance provided by your people was the reason we have worked with you.  Sincerely, Jerry S. MaplesPresident

School of Fine Arts | UW-MilwaukeeTo Whom It May Concern, I am writing this letter in recognition of the efforts and createivity of Steven Klein with regards to our recent exhibition, The Art of Design. I am currently the Head of the Design program in The Art Department at UWM. This last Fall I was the curator of a national exhibition on the state-of-the-art of the design from various disciplines. Steve Klein heard of this project and came forth to propose a lighting plan for the gallery. Well, the final outcome of this was an exhibition that broke all previous attendance records, received numerous press articles, and impressed both the layperson and professionals in the design community from Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Illinois. Many people volunteered their time to make this event possible. There is one person that deserves special recognition, and that person is Steve Klein. He dedicated himself to the exhibition and spent considerable time studying our space and designing a lighting scheme that enhanced the beauty of the space and the objects. In other words, the lighting design really made the show, and we are extremely grateful to Steve for having participated in this project. Steve is very capable, creative, knowledgeable, and giving person.  Very truly yours, Harry J. Wirth, IDSA
