High Style in Degrees Kelvin: Connecting Residential Lighting to the Rainbow Bridge

Lighting requires artistic vision applied to solving problems. Both the functional problems and tools for solving them have changed. What remains timeless are projects that function as needed and go far beyond, evoking emotion and promoting wellbeing.

The color, quality and combination of LED light is most successful when it achieves its purpose without adding demand for the viewers attention, when the viewer is unconscious of it, when it is simultaneously seen and not seen.

Because there are many choices, navigation along the color spectrum is challenging, rewarding and risky. Research shows it has physiological effects that must be considered.

Learning Objectives:

Learn the best combinations of color metrics and techniques for achieving desired results. The participant will come away with great new insight and enthusiasm.

See ten effective lighting techniques. Learn in detail how to achieve them, and when and why to use them.

Develop new questions to analyze successful projects for inspiration and point of view as well as how they were realized.

Learn why and how specific LED colors affect people neurologically, and how the predictable results can influence behavior and wellbeing.

Attendees will learn about how to manage the risk that comes with using colored light so that it is more than just bright colors or decoration and allows designers to find the inner value of its use.
